Sky-Blue Hometown
For the last thirty years, one artist has been evading the watchful eyes of the KGB, locking himself in a studio on a particular painting. His name is Nikolai Shin (Shin Soon-nam), a 2nd generation Korean-Russian immigrant, and the painting is "Requiem", composed with his paintbrush to soothe the souls of innocent Koreans who were massacred during Stalin's 1937 forced migration policy. Sky-Blue Hometown centers on this masterpiece of Mr. Shin, who finally received deserved world acclaim. The film brings to life the oppressed memory of the history of Korean-Russian forced relocation policy.
