A stranger comes to town. The enigmatic protagonist, Seth, gets off the bus one hot summer day at the end of August and takes a room at the local inn. He hooks up with a local girl and throws around money but he doesn't exactly look like the type who earned it honestly. He spellbinds the local community with his mysticism and goads them into rage by his provocative behavior. In particular, three regulars at the bar at the inn see their dull small-town life laughed at and belittled by this young rooster. Soon the town is seething with tension and this sets off a long chain of reactions in the small-town community. Reactions that have dramatic consequences for everyone involved.
