Sam Rivers et Tony Hymas

Sam Rivers and Tony Hymas

Shut up in a recording studio for four days, with only a lucky few to witness it all, are two men, two musicians, two widely divergent cultures, who must find a common ground for something to happen. Meaning a musical and intellectual space in which they can commune and play together. The film is a record of this musical and personal experience, and this tension, this quest, in which music is in turn the reflection of an inner reality, the revelator of underlying conflicts, the medium for transformation and the nexus of reconciliation. But is a successful artistic endeavor always utopian ?
