The film of the Romanès Circus, during a performance one evening under their bigtop. The whole family is there : a haunted singer, wildly funny musicians, nimble children, young circus artists inspired by the giddiness of gypsy music. From this big-hearted tempest emerges the elemental purity of the gypsy circus. (...) The spectacle is everywhere... All so unusual that the audience leaves the tent reluctantly, feeling they have not seen a simple show, but shared a moment of true happiness. The Romanès Circus played to full tents in Paris for the past five years, and are now enjoying the same success in the provinces and abroad. Their originality lies in being at the confluence of traditional circus arts and the "new circus", and in appealing to popular audiences as well as philosophers, poets and actors.
