Mister Gir & Mike S. BlueberryMoebius's Blueberry
Shot during the launch of the album "Géronimo", this documentary portrait is based on a "day-in-the-life" of celebrated French illustrator, Jean "Moebius" Giraud : the camera follows the artist at home with his family then films him at work in his Montparnasse studio, meeting fans at various book launches in Paris and at the Saint-Malo Comic Book festival. By the sea, surrounded by wooden stakes shaped like totem poles, he reveals his passionate convictions on life, art, psychology and the unconscious. The film captures the artist's delight in his creations and his generosity towards his fans but also his fears and doubts, and his need for solitude. Featured are a suite of superb drawings of his legendary hero, Mr. Blueberry, which culminates in strikingly original artwork drawn lifesize on a sheet of glass.
