This is the first in a series of ten documentaries on old Bucharest. Between 1977 and 1989, this beautiful city with its golden towers, once nicknamed the "Little Paris" of Eastern Europe, saw the destruction of a great number of its historical monuments and pre-war buildings. The film inventories this willful demolition to denounce the martyrdom of a city whose woes are still kept secret.
