This film is made up of accounts of persons who have had the experience of seeing their lives changed by a book : Marcel Proust’s "In Search of Lost Time". For them, as for so many others the world over, Proust’s novel possesses the brilliance and the significance of an intimate horizon, one towards which one always wishes to return … So it first had to be said, something which can occupy such a large place in our lives but which we fail so often to express : our admiration. Each of these readers was seen as a kind of craftsman-creator who, over the years, created secret and invisible illuminations around "In Search of Lost Time". These constitute the basic materials of this film, or, to put it another way : it is the experience of the "book-revelation" that we have tried to render here. Thierry Thomas
