Luis Miguel Dominguín
A bullfighter, the finest of his day, scandalmonger and ladies' man, amateur of movie stars. This film retraces the life of Luis Miguel Dominguín, from his childhood as a bullfighting prodigy to his rivalry with Antonio Ordoñez in 1959. A bullfighter's career, attested by Picasso and Hemingway, and a private life which boasted some of the world's most beautiful women : Rita Hayworth, Ava Gardner, not to mention Lucia Bosé, whom this Don Juan in suits of light married in a stormy relationship. But Luis Miguel, the self-proclaimed "número uno" of the bullring in May 1949 in Madrid, has always looked for scandal, beginning with his confrontation with Manolete, the idol of Spain in the 40s. Cultivated and proud, of modest origins but a friend of the great of his days, this man was like a monarch in the Spain of the post-civil war years.
