Les Maîtres des Jeux

The Olympic Illusions

In recent months, the IOC has tarnished the positive image of the Olympic Games after a series of scandals of corruption and drug abuse, or even because of the masochism of the "dirty old men" of the institution. All this, concealed behind the smooth, virtuous mask of the Olympic Charter, which defines the values of the Olympic spirit and the virtually missionary role of the IOC. The documentary deciphers the internal machinery of the IOC, explains the staggering extent of its powers and endeavours to describe, in minute detail, the opening-up process announced as the democratization of a feudal organization. But it also questions those who have made the Olympic Games into an event unique in the world of big business : the athletes.
