Les JusticiersLaw and Disorder
First, a brief reportage about the exploits of the "lawman" Dèvi, an illiterate adventurer who, in 1999 and 2000, organized the lynching of some 100 thieves in southern Benin, with the passive complicity of the authorities. Then, a story, Fear on Arribana, which is set in an African capital where the government, the Mafia, the courts and the police operate hand in hand. A young woman whose father has been murdered in public by hoodlums, discovers how the police and the judges are in cahoots with the murderers. She decides to avenge her father's death herself. A fable about corrupt justice and the perils of self-defense.
