The Art of Time

Mediated by the warm gaze of the filmmaker, grandson of the painter André Biémer, the film takes us on a journey through the lands and seasons that shaped the grandfather's life and work. The theme centers on the junction of two generations, two artists, two continents, two languages, two eras. Avoiding the academic, the overly historical and the nostalgic as it embraces feeling, topicality and relevance, The Art of Time scans the career of a major painter. Exploring the images, writings and the hidden face of his grandfather, the grandson discovers the secret wellsprings on his invigorating humanism.
