Les Alsaciens et le BarabliAlsacians and Barabli
A two-part documentary about the Barabli, an Alsatian cabaret, a satiric revue founded in Strasbourg after the war and which, for more than forty years, deeply influenced cultural life in Alsace. This is the collective history of a theatrical venture, the story of a strong, intimate bond between an artistic enterprise and its audience. Enriched by interviews with spectators of the Barabli and elements from the work of Germain Muller, this film, apart from exploring regional history and its evolution, also deals with the universality of feelings of identity in addition to showing us Alsace from a new angle.
