Le Temps perdu

Hubert de la Rouvières, director of a provincial newspaper, is about to marry his daughter Melanie to Max, on the family estate. Max has artistic talents but he has chosen to sacrifice his passion for the comic strip for this marriage and a promising future with the paper. As the gathered family members sit down to eat, a man suddenly appears, claiming to be Max's father. This man had vanished 20 years ago and Max had considered him dead. He suspects the "old man" has deliberately come to ruin the festivities and gives him a cold reception. In fact, the man wants to dissuade Max from marrying into a conformist existence. His true place is in comics...
