Inspired by one of the most famous Arabic erotic works, "The Perfumed Meadow of Frolicking Pleasures" by the poet Muhamad-Al-Nafzaoui, this film is a journey of initiation that blends the imaginary and the real. It links the East and the countries of exile from Morocco to France, and here and there lifts the veils woven by taboos and restraints. This journey casts a light on a paradox : sexuality in the Muslim world may not quite correspond to the idea we have of it. If it is true that taboos and restraints are a fertile compost for the imagination, they also hang more heavily over young generations. Without meaning to shock or provoke, The Perfumed Garden seeks out young men and women who talk about their difficulties and their desires, allowing us to glimpse their wounds and the weight of other people's gazes.
