Le Combat des juges

The Battle for Justice

The International Criminal Tribunal in The Hague was born during the war in the former Yugoslavia. It has been moulded by the history of this war and its aftermath. A handful of men and women, who were determined to enforce justice for crimes against Human Rights, have eventually convinced a great number of states that such exceptional procedures could and should be set up on permanent bases. The ICT for the former Yugoslavia and then for Rwanda have been salutary steps towards an International Criminal Court so that crimes, crimes against Human Rights and genocide might not remain unpunished.
