Kosovo

What is really happening inside Kosovo ? Is an enormous massacre going on, shielded from our view ? For two months, the whole length of the war, the western media can only indirectly answer the question. No news arrive from inside the country. If the refugees, on the Albanian or Macedonian borders, all offer similar accounts about Serb brutalities, the heart of the province remains inaccessible to scrutiny. None the less, for the war's duration, a handful of western journalists did indeed remain in Pristina. The filmmakers found them and questioned them at length. Under what conditions were the journalists able to cover these events ? Their testimony about the difficulty of the war correspondent's job is illustrated by examples of the work they produced : television archives, articles and dispatches.
