Jusqu'au bout de la vie
Between euthanasia and constant therapeutic treatment, there is another alternative that allows the dying to maintain true dignity. Virtually unknown, palliative care provides the kind of quality end-of-life care one has the right to expect in a interdependent and humane society. If death remains a taboo subject, it is because we are frightened of it and don't want to know about it. With gentleness, humility and humanity, this film strips away our prejudices about death and the end of life. It takes us into a Palliative Care Unit, where, daily, men and women provide end-of-life care. The film also deals with the terminally ill who have decided to die at home, among their family, with the assistance of a mobile team.
