Jeanne, aujourd'huiJoan, Now
"This February 21, in the presence of yesterday, of today, of everyday, and of always, in the moment in which we exist, my trial begins. It didn't cease to be and burned at the stake." Behind closed doors, an actress recounts the texts of Joan of Arc's trial. She is filmed by a hidden camera : a television screen, in the background, reproduces her image at times "unsynchronized". Is she recounting a play for theatre, for television, for film ? A female character "about whom we don't know but a voice" appears at another times, filmed from behind, in reverse-shot, as a duplicate of Joan. This woman, witness, expresses some possible spectators' reflections on the historic character of Joan of Arc, on the eventual representation of her in cinematographic images. Recurring details of her life's journey cross the film, up until the flames of her punishment.
