Emei Tibetan Macaque
On a mountain on the edge of Tibetan-Qinghai Plateau, lives a group of Tibetan macaques named by scientists, as one over twenty primates in China, "an animal under second-class national protection". They live in groups within the natural boundaries of mountains, valleys and forests. Each group has its own king. It seems they lead a carefree life. Nevertheless, inside their kingdoms, a primitive social system and complicated family relationships have been set up. Sometimes they fight cruelly for power. An inside look at their habits and living situations brings us interesting thoughts about our own predicament.
