Deux femmes à ParisTwo Women in Paris
23-year-old Maya joins her husband Aldo and their friends in the antifascist demonstrations of July 14, 1935. But the young woman, then pregnant, quickly feels oppressed in the crowd and goes home. That day, she meets her next-door neighbor, Maud, a young milliner who runs a shop employing seven women. For Aldo and Maya, being Jews is not an everyday concern. But Maud has a lover, Marcel, a man associated with the far-right movement. When Maya overhears the latter's vicious, antisemitic remarks, she realizes everything that separates her and Maud. The months go by. Hitler's rise to power is forcing many Jews into exile in France. Then comes the war and Aldo's departure. Everything should separate the two young women, but strangely, each feels responsible for the other...
