Days in Those Mountains
Deep in the Daba mountains in Sichuan province of China lies the Shuangcheng village of Sima town where Deng, the grandson of the model of the famous oil painting "Father" and his family live. Between the autumn of 1998 and the summer of 1999, Luo Zhongli, celebrated painter of "Father", visited the village for several times. This film is a documentary of Luo's experience in his visits and an account of the real-life story of Deng and his fellow villagers. Dauntless and tenacious for generation after generation, the people in the mountains stand for what life really is through their struggles for survival, growth and change. The film witnesses the rural life in China at the end of the 20th century.
