Cyril Meilland, professional racing cyclist, has always used stimulants. As the Tour du Sud race approaches his home region in the Pyrenees, Cyril is determined to prove to his family - especially his son Eric and his brother-in-law, a supporter since the start of his career - he's still capable of exploits. Only his wife Isabelle will not be there : she's left him because she refuses to live with a dope addict. Though he's exceeded the legal limit of hematocrit, he just barely escapes a blood test with the connivance of his manager. At this stage of the race, his team's success depends on him and he must let his leader, Pipo Chiappi, take the lead. Cyril knows that without a "boost", he cannot compete with the other cyclists.
