Citoyen RousseauCitizen Rousseau
The works of Jean-Jacques Rousseau represent a peak in the history of human thought, between Socrates and Kant. His philosophical system, especially in his political writings, has incited debates, polemics and controversies for two and a half centuries. But without him, would our democratic society be what it is today ? Most certainly not. Citizen Rousseau aims to observe the emergence of Rousseau's thought through his own biography as he left it. It also contests abusive simplifications, caricatured images that have stuck to the name of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, to better discern Rousseau's modernity.
