Chasse à l'homme

Hunt for Man

First, a brief historical reportage about the Togolese wildlife reserves, which, until 1990, were extended manu militari on orders from General Eyadema. It necessitated the expulsion of thousands of peasants and countless exactions. Then, a story about how soldiers, under orders to a corrupt and unscrupulous Environment Minister, attempt to evacuate an African village. The protagonists of the series, the bush taximan Koffi and the féticheur Baba Woulou, manage to avoid a confrontation by playing on the army's fear of the encircled village's fetiche practices. This film was made with the cooperation of the Benin army.
