C.L.I.N.
They are between the ages of 6 and 12 and speak not a word of French. Grouped together at public school in "initiation classes" (the CLIN), these children have a few months in which to adapt, learn customs and language, before entering a regular class. For some, it will take only a quarter and they will reach a decent academic level in less than a year. By what process do these children integrate our culture and how does the school go about it ? To what extent and by what means does this integration aid families ? Does a new culture supplant an old one ? What is in store for cultures that are too foreign ? The director spent a year following a group of children enrolled in initiation class, filming them at school, at home and in the outside world.
