Blue Tower
19-year-old Toru lives with his mother in a town of canals and chemical plants. When he was a young boy, Toru lost his beloved sister, Sayoko, in an accident that happened right in front of his eyes. His mother doesn't realize how traumatized Toru is by his sister's death and that he hates his mother's attitude towards the tragedy. He locks himself in his room and isolates himself from his mother and the outside world. He sleeps during the day and goes around during the night, eating all his meals alone in his room. One night, he meets Midori, a mistreated schoolgirl, and brings her home. With the appearance of a new character in his life, Toru is spurred by dreams of his sister. Gradually, Midori's presence thaws out not only Toru's frozen heart but also his mother's coldness. His brotherly feelings towards the schoolgirl eventually turn to love.
