Big Lucky Carter

If this film takes a look at Lester "Big Lucky" Carter and his music, it’s not because of the juicy but incidental interest of a musician recording his first album at the age of 78. Far from the festoons and predictable hoopla of the new millennium, the music and lyrics of Big Lucky Carter reflect the life and experiences of a man from a harsh world, a man born black in the American South of the 20s, an era characterized by violence and segregation. The film aims to retrace his life and career in his company. We return with him to the places of his youth and his earliest memories, go back with him to the sources of his music and his both disillusioned and benevolent attitude towards man and society.
