The year 2000 marks the 250th anniversary of the death of Johann Sebastian Bach. In commemoration, the director pays tribute to the composer with a selection of the most original and most extravagant adaptations ever made of Bach's music. Featuring : PDQ Bach, the humorist musician, Jacques Loussier, Le Quatuor, the Swingle Singers, who caused a sensation a few years back by performing Bach with singing exercises, Balanchine choreography, Peter Ustinov's lampoons of Bach, etc... In interviews, several of these personalities explain the reasons behind their unusual approach to Bach and describe their methods.
