As Long as the Grass Shall Grow and the Rivers Flow
"As long as the grass shall grow and the rivers flow" are the words used to conclude every treaty ever signed with the Native American people - not one of which was ever honoured by the United States government. Land literally stolen out from under the Lakota people, where today wealthy white towns and tourist attractions stand alongside desolate and miserable Native American Reserves. And yet as we follow the footprints of the present guided by the memories of the past, we find hope and a budding renaissance of the Native American culture all across North America. This documentary is the encounter of people, situations and places which we "touched with our eyes and embraced with our hearts" as the Lakota people have always taught us to do.
