On June 25, 1998, the Kabyle singer Lounes Matoub was assassinated in Kabylie, Algeria. Officially, the attack was carried out by the GIA but at the time the Kabyle population didn't believe the official version and accused the power for having killed Matoub. After six months of investigation, the film crew managed to establish that the assassination of Matoub, which provoked the fall of President Zeroual, was an incredible manipulation of the Algerian and international public opinion : the crime was in reality carried out with the help of the Algerian Army.
