Zaveshtanie
A peculiar socialist tendency existed in the late sixties, which would remain as a testament for the following generation : messages were inscribed on marble slabs in the yards of many plants and factories. This film is about one such testament slab in the textile factory in the town of Kazanlak. The inscription reads : "To be opened in the year 2000". The film is not only a souvenir of communism in Bulgaria, it is also a story of illusions in human history, a story of castles in the air, of the absurdity of human dreams. It is also a warning : communism is not dead yet. It is inside all of us, in our minds, in the way we think. Generations will go by before this illusion fades...
