Toro TopeTop Bull
Pedro "Toro Tope" Duarte has been chief of the "vaqueros" (cowboys) for his entire life, earning him the nickname of "Top Bull". Now, on the brink of retirement, he looks back on what has become of the world around him. Toro Tope tells us his story, a chronicle of his daily life as he tenders over 15,000 heads of cattle through the savanna. Challenged by what he considers old age, Toro Tope thrives to keep up with the younger vaqueros under him, and fights for the preservation of traditions and customs that have been part of the "llanero" culture for centuries. A nostalgic tale of this old vaquero's life and memories. A film on the conservation of the natural environment values, traditions and customs in the Orinoco River basin of Colombia.
