The Second World War in Colour
The Second World War in Colour is a unique series of films which provide a remarkable new insight into the cataclysmic event that shaped the modern world. In the 60 years since the outbreak of the war, almost all our recollections of the Second World War have come from black and white film footage. But now, after a decade of meticulous research by archivist Adrian Wood, hundreds of hours of previously unseen colour film have been unearthed, offering a completely new and vivid portrait of the war. Three films have been compiled from the many hours of authentic footage garnered from archives, private collections and individuals around the world, and these are inter-woven with extracts from the letters and diaries of those whose lives were irrevocably changed by an astonishing period of history.
