The Laughing Club of India
The Laughing Club of India explores the power of laughter through the strangely popular phenomenon of laughing clubs in contemporary Bombay. Founded by a medical doctor, Madan Kataria, who believes laughter to be the source of healing and enormous well-being, these clubs bring hundreds of people together, beyond caste or class, to laugh for 40 minutes each day. A compassionate, sometimes absurdist portrait of a number of "serious laughers", who meet daily in these clubs towards their pursuit of happiness.
