Summer in the Suburbs
Ted Lyle and his family live in a nice house in a nice suburb on the outskirts of London. Not a very exciting life but a safe place to live and the schools are good. He has three teenage children and his wife Sandra makes a bit of extra cash through her takeaway sandwich business. Ted's work in CID rarely turns up anything more serious than burglary and car theft, and he hasn't got on as far as he'd like but still… Out of the blue, the body of a 14-year-old girl is found in a field. Fear and suspicion sweep through the neighbourhood. A terrible shock for the community and for Ted's family who knew the girl well. But before long Ted finds the finger of suspicion pointing at his own house. Disturbingly, Sandra finds evidence that points to the guilt of her own son. Her favourite, the youngest boy, James.
