The bullfight is a spectacle of pure contradiction: life and death, maximum virility expressed by men dressed as women, repulsion and attraction.The corrida is much more than the slaughter of an animal. The scope of this documentary is to try to put aside the prejudices and commonplaces (obviously without any desire to eliminate them) that pervade this very special art form. The corrida is the only art form where the artist's life is in danger and where the degree of skill in its execution is left to his honor. The torero never sees the work of art he is creating. He has no possibility of making corrections, as a painter or writer would have. He can't listen to it as a musician would. He can only feel it inside himself and hear the reactions of the crowd.
