Seven Days in Elul
40-year-old David Peled carries a tormenting secret inside him that weighs heavily on his life. Fifteen years ago, during a routine army-reserve activity, David had shot and killed his commander Amnon Rifkin. An official investigation into the circumstances of the incident had established that David followed all regulations and had cleared him of the responsibility. But David could not rid himself of the responsibility and was since haunted by guilt. Amnon Rifkin left a wife, Ruth, and a daughter. David had never met them. After the tragic incident, he wanted to visit the widow and her daughter, but was met with Ruth's refusal. David tried to detach himself from the nightmarish event of his past. He shared his secret with no one. Fifteen years after the event, Naomi, David’s wife, meets a senior psychologist from Tel Aviv. It is Ruth Rifkin, Amnon Rifkin's widow.
