French composer, conductor and pioneer, Pierre Boulez is one of the major figures of 20th century music. He talks to his friend and colleague Roger Wright, controller of BBC Radio 3, about a wide-ranging and controversial career, and his personal vision of music's future. Filmed in the ultra-modern Cité de la Musique in Paris, the programme includes illustrations of Boulez in rehearsal for his latest work "Sur Incises" with the Ensemble Intercontemporain.
