Mirror of a Nation is a film about the ENA and, through it, a film about France. By observing the students of the ENA during their internships in the French administration (prefectures, embassies), as well as in industrial enterprises and foreign institutions, Gérald Caillat executes a portrait of a French prototype. By filming classes at the School (negotiations, public speaking training, ballroom dancing), he epitomizes the State's conception of the exercise of power and State service.
