Les Trois Vies d'Édouard Chévardnadzé
The President of the Georgian Republic, Eduard Shevardnadze is a charismatic if controversial figure. A zealous apparatchik of the Georgian communist system, he was named to the post of Soviet Foreign Affairs Minister under Gorbachev and worked for the perestroïka, disarmament, the fall of the Berlin Wall, the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan. Denouncing the conservative forces of the regime, he resigned a few months before the putsch in Moscow. Returning to Georgia, he put an end to the civil war in Abkhazia and brought Georgia into the CIS. A film that examines the tactics and the metamorphosis of a man of power.
