Les Renaud Barrault, bâtisseurs de théâtre

To retrace the career of Renaud / Barrault is to recount the history of a half-century of theater. Jean-Louis Barrault, actor, writer, company manager, catalyst and discoverer of new plays and playwrights, staged more than 90 productions and hosted some 100 plays at his theater. His constant companion and collaborator, Madeleine Renaud, discreetly oversaw the company's repertory choices and the preparations for each production. Too, she conducted a personal acting career and served as muse for the likes of Samuel Beckett and Marguerite Duras. For the first time, a documentary recalls the dazzling adventure of this legendary couple.
