Les Oranges vertes du LiberiaThe Green Oranges of Liberia
The Green Oranges of Liberia examines the contemporary and historical specificity of Liberia: a country where abolitionists freed slaves of all ethnic groups on ships they inspected all along the West Africa coast. Through dramas and personal points of view, the viewer comes to understand the inexorable decline of this country, the oldest independent republic in Africa, backed by the United States, a country with vast natural resources: diamond and iron mines, precious wood. We hear the testimonies of Liberians about what led sub-Sahara African countries into fratricidal wars, then to economical and political ruin.
