Joseph M.'s Diary is a film about director Joseph M. and the Super-8 film diary he has kept since 1967. His film diary could be likened to the literary diaries of writers such as Gide, Amiel, Léautaud and Calaferte. Shot in Paris and Brussels, this film shows the director at work, talking with friends such as Boris Lehman, Roland Lethem, Noël Godin, Dominique Noguez, Dominique Païni, Alain Riou, Marcel Hanoun, Mara et Nele Pigeon. The film raises questions about the nature of autobiographies and the cinema itself.
