Just Watch Me : Trudeau and the '70s Generation
It was hard to grow up under the elegant, enigmatic and eccentric Pierre Trudeau. The man was just so dominant. In Just Watch Me, the first film to give voice to the people most marked by Trudeau, we meet eight people from across the country - Anglo and Franco, separatist and federalist, idealist and realist - whose personal and national dreams are intertwined. They are the Trudeau generation, the people who grew up during the '70s. In this social documentary, the director looks at the lasting effects on her generation of Trudeau's audacious attempt to reconfigure the idea of Canada. "Just watch me ! " Trudeau said during the October Crisis. And watch him we did, regardless of what we thought of his politics.
