It’s 1969, and 17-year-old David Milgaard has no plans for the future. But the future has plans for him. A woman is stabbed and murdered in an alleyway. He is the main suspect and soon faces a life sentence for a crime he didn’t commit. His mother Joyce crusades for his release, but every attempt for appeal or parole is denied. Ten years later, David escapes. He’s shot and recaptured. As David’s will to survive erodes, his mother’s determination to maintain her son’s innocence and fight to win his freedom thrives… In 1992, David is finally released. And five years later, DNA tests completely prove his innocence. His name is finally cleared. But at what cost?
