There now exist more than 10 web sites on the poet Dylan Thomas, who died in 1953. Few web-users belonged to his generation and yet, the legendary figure of the man, the writer, the poet, and the outsider remains very much alive. The man who reinvented English-language poetry (dixit Lawrence Durrell) was born in 1914, in one of the most desolate parts of Great Britain: Wales. The sea, death, loneliness and existential pain forged Thomas's unique talent. Recognition was almost as dazzling as his ambiguous life was troubled. It is this very modernity that this documentary seeks to demonstrate, through his poetry, his work as dramatist, screenwriter, radio playwright and high-spirited lecturer, but also the man, the notorious alcoholic, in order to understand and rediscover the writings, the vital breath of images that sprang from the poet's imagination.
