Discovering the valley of the Douro and its river at the height of the grape harvest. A Portuguese photographer shows us the way. He, too, is discovering this region which he doesn't know, accompanied by discreetly curious travelers who have come from afar to go up the river. They follow the same river road aboard different crafts. The young Portuguese photographer, who is in search of the river and its valley, discovers the rich history of this region. He also meets the people who, for generations, have contributed to that history. A place where people live and work, in direct contact with nature. The director conceived this film as a painterly fresco, with a respectful eye and ear to pay homage to the life of these people.
