A psychological drama based on a book by Kerstin Ekman, member of the Swedish Academy. The story is set in a forest region in the early 60s. A group of hunters meet for their annual elk hunt. A fatal accident puts the hunters in a perilous position, where the loyalty of each is put to the test. The insistent barking of the hounds in the forest is supposed to be the death knell, but for whom?
