Somewhere beneath the earth lies the holy of holies – the Ark of the Covenant. The place: Jerusalem. The time: the end of the millennium. In the summer of 1998, Richard Andrews, a British historian and researcher, arrived in Israel to begin a search for the Ark of the Covenant. He had come to the conclusion that the Ark was buried 70 meters underground, beneath the Dome of the Rock. The Muslim Wakf which governs the Temple Mount denied the existence of the Ark, while Jewish right-wing organizations seek to build the Third Temple on the site, where, according to the Old Testament, the entire universe was created. The film describes the quest for the Ark. In Jerusalem, divided between the three religions, Andrews' theory about the Ark and its location is like a time bomb...
