Alain Robbe-Grillet
Robbe-Grillet's books are studied, dissected, scanned, but are they really read? I wanted to meet this forward-looking man, the living author. A certain image of his work, transmitted by several years of high school, led me to believe I was going to find a writer who was necessarily aging, vain and blasé. I was amazed to find a still youthful man, much more audacious that most high school students. He openly played the bad boy, this "pope of the nouveau roman," who, alongside others, had shaken contemporary literature out of its complacency. And now, more than 20 years later, he said to me: "Why don't we go down to the Ile d'Ouessant ? We could make a film there. About me. With you." Yes. I said, yes, I'd like to, yes. Frédéric Compain
